Advice for soon-to-be star gazers

FAQs

Q1 : Cannot we enjoy star gazing without a telescope or binoculars?

Those who are absorbed in the world of the stars did not watch the stars using a telescope or binoculars freely at first. They started from looking at the sky or reading books on stars. At first, it is OK to see the starry sky relaxed for a long time. Let’s begin from that point.

Q2 : I would like to take pictures of celestial bodies. What do you think?

Many people think that to take pictures of celestial bodies is difficult. However, it is not so. For example, if you take pictures of stars like lines, choose cameras which can keep the shutter open (bulb or time) and a release (an accessory which can keep the shutter open). And a tripod to fix the camera has you take pictures of them. If possible, a lens hood which prevents surrounding light to enter is preferable. Be careful because the light of star is so subtle that if you light the lens, the light will damage your pictures.

When you are prepared, face the camera to a star. Make the distance infinite, the aperture open and the shutter open for more than 20 seconds, and you can get a picture which looks like it. The longer the exposure time, the darker of stars you can get. But remember that the image is becoming longer and thinner.
